Chinese Soprano Fan Yang. First Prize Winner of 2022 Alexander& Buono Vocal competition; Gold Prize Winner of the Forte International Music Competition, also won the Most Expressive Performance award by performing in the winner’s recital in Carnegie Hall. At the year of 2021, she won the First Prize of the International Music Competition “Rome” Grand Prize Virtuoso.
Fan studies with Grammy Award winner Victoria Livengood; she completed her professional studies and received Master of Music degree with Chicago Conservatory of Performing Arts (CCPA) at Roosevelt University. Before graduate school, she received her Bachelor in Music Education from The University of Kansas.
Fan is currently a principal artist in Opera Carolina. She performed the full role of Anna Gomez in The Consul with the Angels Vocal Art (AVA) in Los Angeles, July,2023. Her other roles includes First Lady and scene role of Pamina in The Magic Flute with New York Lyric Opera Theatre; and the role of Board Member in For the Sake of Narrative Closure, in the world premier performance at Chicago Opera Fest X; She also performed in Ensemble of Tosca with Opera Carolina and AVA, Amelia goes to the Ball, L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, and The Cunning Little Vixen while she studied in Chicago.
On the concert stage, Fan has performed as solo concerts artist at Carnegie Hall, National Opera Center and Lincoln Center in New York; Ganz Hall, Mandel Hall and Studebaker Theatre in Chicago; Kauffman Center in Kansas City, and Lied Center in Lawrence, Kansas. She will be performing more concerts in upcoming 2023-2024 season with Opera Carolina in Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
